Pacific Northwest Cupcakes - Review

Have you had a chance to to hear about Pacific Northwest Cupcakes yet?  I was recently asked to provide an unbiased review (in exchange for a cake) and let me tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Let me start off by saying that I normally judge a cake by it's frosting.  And the more frosting, the better!  I'm mean, the cake part isn't really necessary, right?  Well the Butternut and Fig Compote cake by PNW Cupcakes may have just converted me.  This cake was only lightly frosted (vanilla bean) and yet I didn't care one bit.  The cake was moist, absolutely delicious and the flavor combination was perfect for the new fall season.  And the best part is, all of their cakes are made with local, organic and all natural ingredients!

p.s. I didn't get a chance to taste the two cupcakes we also received.  But considering that my 5 year old inhaled them, I'm pretty sure that they were pretty good!  And one was gluten free!

A little about Lauren and PNW Cupcakes:

Lauren Sophia Anderson of PNW Cupcakes uses only local and organic ingredients, non-GMO, fair trade, and sustainable ingredients. All packaging and marketing is 100% recycled Kraft printed with biomass inks, and their everyday cupcake liners are compostable! Lauren specializes in artisan boutique style buttercream cakes, floral garnishes being her favorite specialty. She also does wonderful gourmet cupcakes, most of which are filled. Flavor combinations are a plenty, and almost everything can be made (good!) gluten free and vegan!

Discovery Park Wedding Photography

Karina and Nick were married at the Daybreak Star Indian Center.  The great thing about this venue is it's located right within Discovery Park.   I absolutely adore Discovery Park for all of it's photography potential - long grasses, beautiful historical buildings and access to the beach and lighthouse!

The wedding itself was beautiful and meaningful and you could really tell that all of their friends and family adored the couple!

Allison and Phil were married at the beautiful Green Gates at Flowing Lake wedding venue.  Their wedding was a little bit rustic and a little bit country and very much full of fun and love!

Heritage Hall Wedding in Kirkland

Andrea and Jackie were married on a beautiful (and hot) summer day.  They chose the super cute Heritage Hall as their venue with it's quaint indoor space and beautiful outdoor gardens.  This wedding was full of laughter and tears and crazy late night dancing!  It was a blast for all!

Swans Trail Farm Wedding in Snohomish

Laura and Stephan were married at the beautiful Swans Trail Farm in Snohomish, WA.  It was a typical summer day in the Pacific NW - started with some crazy rain and ended with a beautiful sunny sky!

If you are wondering, Swans Trail Farm is an amazing wedding venue.  They have a gorgeous outdoor location next to a pond for the ceremony, a beautiful indoor space for dinner and a barn like atmosphere for dancing.  It's also a pretty awesome backdrop for photography!  And oh my - check out that cake!

Seattle Engagement Session with one Amazing couple

Session Information:  Engagement session in Seattle at a beautiful family home

When I first met Andrea + Jackie, I instantly liked them!  They are down to earth, funny, authentic and warmhearted.  I love couples like that!

For their engagement session, we originally planned on meeting at a local park but Andrea suggested her parents home might be a better alternate location - boy was she right.  It was intimate, meaningful and it had a spectacular view!  It also gave me an opportunity to meet some of her family - which I always like to do beforehand so everyone is that much more comfortable with me and my camera on the big day.

Family Engagement Session in Mukilteo

Session Information:  Engagement Session in Mukilteo at the Mukilteo Lighthouse and Beach

Laura and Stephan drove all the way up from Portland for their pre-wedding engagement session. They already have a beautiful daughter together and they thought it would be great to include her in on the session.  I loved spending the morning with them at the beach and getting to know them as the sweet family that they are!
